ARCHITECTS: PHILIBERT DE L'ORME (1556-59), JEAN BULLANT (1570-1576)

This much-photographed chateau, Chateau de Chenonceau, over the River Cher, was fascinating, but, like many "castles" it didn't feel very homey.
Still, it was probably the most interesting of the chateaus we saw in the Loire Valley simply because of its setting over the river.
